Solved: How to Add Side Padding to A Website Section in Shopify Backend

This is a way that you can add margin, or padding to the sides of a Shopify website page section.

We were recently challenged with a small, and yet what appeared to to be a straight up question with an easy solution.

How do you add side padding to a block on a website page in Shopify?

Problem: The block/section stretched from side to side and didn’t follow the width of the content above and blow the section.

Desktop

Mobile

Solution: By using the Shopify Custom CSS input area for the block we solved it by adding the code snippet below. In this case 50px padding was required on each side to work well on both mobile and desktop.

{

margin-left: 50px;

margin-right: 50px;

}

This solution enables us to add custom styles to this section only without affecting any other content on the page.

Desktop

Mobile

Step by step guide to adding side padding/margin to a Shopify website page section if your theme doesn’t have the feature built in

1. Log into your website backend

2. Navigate to Online Store, Themes in the left hand menu

3. Click “Customize”

4. Choose the page template/create new page template

5. Add/click on the block or section you want to edit and add padding to

6. Go to the “Custom CSS” section and click to open

Standard view before adding custom css padding code

7. Input the code and adjust the padding as needed

{

margin-left: [insert your padding number]px;

margin-right: [insert your padding number]px;

}

8. Save
9. Done

Advanced Shopify Section Side Padding for content

Alternatively, if you need the content to perfectly align above and below sections. Find the content max width and use this as the base line and then adding padding to match the above and below content. Example:

{

max-width: 1280px;

margin: 0 auto;

}

@media screen and (max-width: 1280px) {

{

padding: 0 30px;

}

}

Good luck!

In the realm of nutrition, protein reigns supreme as the cornerstone of a balanced diet, playing a crucial role in muscle repair, immune function, and overall health.

Generated with the help of AI

In the realm of nutrition, protein reigns supreme as the cornerstone of a balanced diet, playing a crucial role in muscle repair, immune function, and overall health. While there's no shortage of protein sources to choose from, one category stands out for its exceptional nutrient density, savoury flavour, and versatility: meat. Whether you're a dedicated carnivore or simply looking to incorporate more protein-rich foods into your diet, exploring the best meat protein sources can open up a world of culinary possibilities and nutritional benefits. Join us as we embark on a journey to uncover the top contenders in the realm of meat protein, from beloved classics to lesser-known gems, and discover why meat remains an essential component of a well-rounded diet.

Opt for Regeneratively Farmed Meat

In a world where food choices have far-reaching consequences, the decision to consume meat goes beyond mere sustenance. It's about understanding the impact our dietary habits have on our health, the environment, and the welfare of animals. Amidst the debate surrounding meat consumption, one approach stands out for its potential to address these concerns holistically: organic regenerative farming. This method not only produces meat that is nutritionally superior but also promotes environmental sustainability and animal welfare. Let's delve into why embracing organic regeneratively farmed meat is a step towards a healthier, more sustainable future.

Why Should We Eat Organic Regeneratively Farmed Meat?

  • Nutritional Superiority: Organic regeneratively farmed meat tends to be richer in essential nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants, thanks to animals' access to diverse pastures and natural diets.

  • Environmental Sustainability: By prioritising soil health and biodiversity, regenerative farming practices help mitigate climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance ecosystem resilience.

  • Animal Welfare: Animals raised on regenerative farms enjoy better living conditions, with space to roam and exhibit natural behaviors, while being spared the routine use of antibiotics and hormones.

    What are the ten best things about the Chief meat bar

What are the ten best things about the Chief meat bar

The Chief meat bar is definitely a hit for those who love a savory, protein-packed snack. Here are ten great things about it:

  1. High Protein Content: Chief’s Meat bars are typically rich in protein (18.4g per bar), making them an excellent snack for fuelling your body and keeping you satisfied between meals.

  2. Convenience: They're easy to carry around, making them a convenient on-the-go snack option for busy days or outdoor adventures.

  3. Variety of Flavors: With options ranging from classic beef to unique flavors like buffalo, teriyaki, or spicy jalapeño, there's something to suit every taste preference.

  4. Low in Carbs: For those following a low-carb or ketogenic diet, meat bars can be a great choice as they're typically low in carbohydrates.

  5. No Artificial Ingredients: Many meat bars are made with real, whole ingredients and are free from artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives.

  6. Long Shelf Life: They have a longer shelf life compared to fresh meat, making them a convenient option to keep on hand for emergencies or travel.

  7. Satiety: The combination of protein and fats in meat bars can help keep you feeling full and satisfied, making them a great option for curbing hunger between meals.

  8. Portable Protein Source: Whether you're hitting the gym, going for a hike, or traveling, meat bars provide a convenient source of protein to support your active lifestyle.

  9. Gluten-Free: Many meat bars are naturally gluten-free, making them suitable for those with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease.

  10. Versatility: Meat bars aren't just for snacking; they can also be incorporated into recipes like salads, wraps, or stir-fries to add a boost of flavor and protein.

The Nutritional Values of Meat

Bioavailability of Nutrients in Meat:

Meat stands out as one of the most bioavailable sources of essential nutrients, offering a wide array of vitamins, minerals, and macronutrients in forms readily absorbed and utilized by the human body. Unlike plant-based sources of nutrients, which may contain certain compounds that inhibit absorption or require specific conditions for optimal utilization, meat provides highly bioavailable forms of nutrients such as heme iron, zinc, and vitamin B12. These nutrients play critical roles in various physiological processes, including oxygen transport, immune function, and energy metabolism.

One of the key factors contributing to the high bioavailability of nutrients in meat is its rich composition of animal proteins. Proteins found in meat are considered complete proteins, containing all essential amino acids in proportions that closely match the body's requirements for protein synthesis and tissue repair. Additionally, meat contains minimal anti-nutritional factors that may interfere with nutrient absorption, allowing for efficient utilization of the nutrients present.

Nutrient Density of Meat:

In addition to being highly bioavailable, meat is also renowned for its nutrient density, packing a concentrated dose of essential nutrients into a relatively small serving size. Whether it's lean cuts of poultry, fatty fish like salmon, or red meats such as beef or lamb, meat offers an impressive array of vitamins, minerals, and other bioactive compounds essential for optimal health. These include:

  • Iron: Meat is one of the richest sources of heme iron, the form of iron most easily absorbed by the body. Iron is critical for oxygen transport, energy production, and cognitive function, making it essential for overall vitality.

  • Zinc: Another vital mineral found abundantly in meat is zinc, which plays a crucial role in immune function, wound healing, and DNA synthesis. Adequate zinc intake is particularly important for supporting a robust immune system and maintaining healthy skin and hair.

  • Vitamin B12: Meat is one of the few dietary sources of vitamin B12, a water-soluble vitamin essential for neurological function, red blood cell production, and DNA synthesis. Deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to neurological disorders, anemia, and fatigue, underscoring the importance of including meat in the diet for those at risk of deficiency.

Understanding the Difference: Meat Protein Bars vs. Conventional Whey Protein Bars

When it comes to choosing a protein bar, the options seem endless, ranging from classic whey protein bars to innovative meat-based alternatives like the Chief brisket bar. While both types of bars aim to deliver a convenient source of protein, they differ significantly in their ingredients, nutritional profiles, and potential benefits. Let's explore the key distinctions between these two popular choices:

Ingredients:

  • Whey Protein Bars: Conventional whey protein bars are typically made from whey protein isolate or concentrate, along with various additional ingredients such as sweeteners, flavors, and additives. These bars often contain a blend of protein sources, including whey, soy, or pea protein, along with carbohydrates and fats to create a balanced nutritional profile.

  • Meat Protein Bars: In contrast, meat protein bars like the Chief brisket bar are crafted from real meat, such as beef, turkey, or bison, along with spices, seasonings, and sometimes additional ingredients like dried fruits or nuts. These bars provide a unique alternative for individuals seeking a savory, protein-packed snack without the added sugars or artificial additives commonly found in whey protein bars.

Nutritional Profile:

  • Whey Protein Bars: Whey protein bars are known for their high protein content, often providing 15-25 grams of protein per serving, depending on the brand and formulation. Additionally, they may contain moderate amounts of carbohydrates and fats to support energy levels and satiety. These bars are popular among fitness enthusiasts and athletes looking to replenish protein stores post-workout or as a convenient meal replacement option.

  • Meat Protein Bars: Meat protein bars offer a different nutritional profile, typically providing a similar amount of protein per serving but with a focus on natural sources of protein and fats. These bars may contain fewer carbohydrates and sugars compared to whey protein bars, making them suitable for individuals following low-carb or ketogenic diets. Additionally, meat protein bars often boast a higher concentration of essential nutrients like iron, zinc, and B vitamins, thanks to their real meat ingredients.

Benefits and Considerations:

  • Whey Protein Bars: Conventional whey protein bars are lauded for their convenience, versatility, and quick absorption, making them an ideal option for post-exercise recovery or as a convenient snack on the go. However, some individuals may experience digestive discomfort or sensitivity to certain ingredients commonly found in whey protein bars, such as lactose or artificial sweeteners.

  • Meat Protein Bars: Meat protein bars offer a savory alternative to sweet protein bars, catering to individuals with different taste preferences or dietary restrictions. With their focus on real, whole ingredients and minimal processing, meat protein bars appeal to those seeking a cleaner, more natural snack option. However, it's essential to choose meat protein bars made from high-quality, ethically sourced meats to ensure optimal taste, texture, and nutritional value.

In summary, while both whey protein bars and meat protein bars offer convenient sources of protein, they cater to different preferences and dietary needs. Whether you're fueling up after a workout or seeking a satisfying snack between meals, understanding the differences between these two options can help you make an informed choice that aligns with your health and wellness goals. Overall, the Chief meat bar offers a convenient, tasty, and nutritious snack option for anyone looking to fuel their body with high-quality protein on the go.

Building Trust Into Trustful Businesses

The first impressions. Don’t get fooled by them - but pay close attention to them. Walking around the fruit section in a supermarket, I tend to keep a close eye on the variety of products and the variations within the varieties — apples for instance.

The first impressions. Don’t get fooled by them - but pay close attention to them. Walking around the fruit section in a supermarket, I tend to keep a close eye on the variety of products and the variations within the varieties — apples for instance. There are nowadays usually three options. The perfect, juicy, big and crispy apples with a perfect shine that reflects the lights of the supermarket ceiling not letting them get unnoticed by the shoppers.

Intrigued by their perfection, I make a pass and stroll over to the imperfect section where the unevenly coloured, funny tuber looking apples hang around screaming “pick me”. Though the price is attractive, I pass on them as well and end up in the organic section. I see a middle ground in terms of aesthetics, but the content is pure. These true apples have not been coated or polished or edited on the outside in post-production; neither have their genetic structure been poisoned on the inside. Instead, more resources have been applied to keep them out of harm to make them as honest, vibrant and nutrient-dense as possible. For the organic apple, shortcuts are avoided not to jeopardise their integrity.

The characteristics of the organic apple give me the best option for ongoing delight and longevity, and I will always look for the preventative option instead of the quick fix. I know as I’ve paid close attention to excellent “content sandwiches”. First impression, middle content, last impression. Not just the pretty cedar house image as the first impression, but the story of the time and effort that have gone into producing the apples without any artificial toxin tricks. And ultimately sold with a short shelf life span. If a brand, product or service allows me to evaluate them with an authentic peak into their supply chain my evaluation needs will be fulfilled. Access to first a first impression, the middle, as well as last impression, chances are I’ll stay loyal to them for years to come.

As one of my favourite authors, Rolf Dobelli writes in The Art of Thinking Clearly. “Who is the sender, what are his intentions and what did he hide under the rug?” If anything. He continues. “The real issue with stories: they give us a false sense of understanding, which inevitably leads us to take bigger risks and urges us to take a stroll on thin ice”.

What would happen if you applied this approach to your coffee purchase, your afternoon snack bar choice or the way you chose your next travel destination. Who are the people behind? What are the ingredients and where do they originate? Most of all, what are their values and world views? Is there an unfiltered version yet to be uncovered or is it exceeding your expectations when you start to unravel its promise?

Make the substantial content the hero, but don’t let it get lost within layers of wax that will eventually be scraped by the disappointed. Build a solid structure that can carry it. An appealing identity with everything that it might imbue, a place of information, an area of connection, takes time to build. [Read. the middle of the sandwhich]. Though a solid foundation will not only keep you upright during the first storm but grow stronger and stronger over time.

Strategise with organic as the centre pillar and trust will reign your realm.

The Need for Speed

With content being incredibly short-lived in news feeds there’s a natural tilt towards volume. Yet, the excess will inevitably have an adverse effect. If the majority of the content is out of context and stealing time, an immediate sense of over-feeding will occur, and followers will push away.

With content being incredibly short-lived in news feeds there’s a natural tilt towards volume. Yet, the excess will inevitably have an adverse effect. If the majority of the content is out of context and stealing time, an immediate sense of over-feeding will occur, and followers will push away.

The goal must be to seek the optimal balance and a tension point where people are starting to curiously wonder what the next story will be - and in that instant delight them with a thought or sense evoking message. Something to share with their world, or something to validate their own values.

This is difficult. Even more so if stock imagery is being used. Content that has been forcefully paired with a message is always at risk. The purpose of the original photo probably never was to end up on the roadside banner for a new weight-loss snack. Never will the core message be as strong as when the visual objects and elements in the story are portraying alongside the word - both tailored to the mission. To enhance the contextual accuracy of the message, the original content produced for the article will always win.

It’s up to you to decide the level of genuineness.

Let’s put it further into context. You’re in charge of the monthly Instagram feed, and you are preparing the 31 upcoming posts. In the meantime, you’re building the assets for your five monthly Facebook and Linkedin posts which are articles from your inbound blog. Where are the images that will evoke curiosity and excitement coming from? Pictures you can be proud and excited about yourself? 60% if the human brain is dedicated to visual processing - and to say the least, the visual impact has a considerable role. Moreover, your top of the funnel social ads are screaming for new material as the audience are fatigued with the current. All pieces of the puzzle trying to form a flawless content symphony.

You now have a choice of either spending time sourcing, puzzling, editing, tweaking, pulling hairs, eliminating, replacing images that you randomly come across on various stock imagery pages. Or, you’ve already started compiling your archive of visual content that contextually fits your content, brand image and values. Thereby, swiftly scheduling your content when it’s time for distribution.

Haven’t started yet? Think, over time, what will be the most efficient way for our company to produce social media posts, blog posts and articles that build a truthful brand with raving fans? Will disconnected stock photos, that you spend hours on finding, do this? If you’re not feeling it by the time you hit “post now”, chances are your audiences won’t either.

Build your content as accurately and contextually as you can on the product or service topics you want to own.

Become a faster, more (cost) efficient and more genuine marketer. You’re in need of speed.

Thoughts On Quality

It all begins with an idea.

When I commit to a transaction of an item I see fit for a specific purpose I have certain expectations. The assertiveness of the declaration on delivering on its promise, in the equation to the accuracy of fitting the purpose and need, will set the expectation bar high. I will pay its price, as long as it fulfils its role time and time again within a realistic timeframe. In other words, does it ongoingly yield a dividend of joy, satisfaction, problem-solving or inspiration?

I understand that there are limits. It is out of our hands should a hail storm damage the hood of our car. The regular bonnet is not bulletproof. There are, however, cars that will survive and drive well for longer compared to others. Just like shoes, certain well-crafted boots might remain your feet’s best friends for decades. Others a few weeks.

Service is automatically imbued in the projection of quality. Will my purchase need a minimum amount of maintenance over a set period and what would the accumulated cost be? Is service swiftly accessible with a minimum amount of barriers? Will my use require frequent checks and ongoing expenses to keep afloat? As a fundamental foundation, I would strive for investment in longevity. In addition noteworthily, putting emphasis on ethical and sustainable standards practised for delivering the product to the market.

What if my expectations aren't met? Then I feel obliged and responsible to voice my concerns in a constructive manner. Because I care. I want to return a favour to the seller for the effort he’s put into developing the product. If not me, then who? At least give them the chance to improve.

For any trustworthy purposeful product, I doubt that there was an intention to disappoint. We can not have this approach upon entering the feedback loop. We are nowadays given the freedom to thoroughly research before transacting.

I will take my time to speak up truthfully about my expectations - expecting an empathic, swift and friendly approach from my seller, or collaborator if you wish. We both want to win. But things do not always go as planned. Yet, if the intentions are right for both parties, transparent and purposeful, both sides should work together to resolve, revise re-ignite - for the better of all.

Get Organised With Your Content

A digitally decluttered system will help you declutter your mind, decrease stress in situations you need to find things fast, facilitate projects, project professionalism.

We’re no Marie Kondos but we do want to share some winning insights to organising your content. If you gaven’t already; start filing and organising your content archives today. A digitally decluttered system will help you declutter your mind, decrease stress in situations you need to find things fast, facilitate projects, project professionalism.

Cleaning out the closet

Chances are you have a ton of images, videos and draft blogs lying around on hard drives or cloud storage services. Scattered out on Google Drive, Dropbox or that 1TB USB drive. Old or unused content can be highly valuable assets. They might have been created in a time where content didn’t have the same value as it has today. You’ve spent time and money creating them - put them to work. Now, it’s easy enough to identify content that’s out of date visually as well as verbally (yes - facts, info and knowledge has a best before date). However, it’s up to you to filter this out. Having said that, gems that are “on-brand” and well crafted might have a timeless angle to them that you can use - rather than focusing on the new. Let these pieces of content enrol in your inbound content strategy as original content.

Filing

Make your digital files searchable. Always rename your photo files in context. “Sydney CMS Conference 2019”, “Investor Presentation Brand X”, “Sydney CBD Architecture”. The more accurate the easier to find. Cloud storage systems such as Dropbox shows results of searches instantly. Put you files into folders, type, event, department, date. Anything that will store your files neatly and in a digitally decluttered way. Spend the extra minutes renaming and filing your content - it will benefit everyone in the long run.

Avoid Plagiarism

Created a popular guest blog on a site back in the days and want to use the same material for your new venture? Don’t. Google crawlers will red flag your page for plagiarism. To avoid plagiarism, get Grammarly and check through all your content with its plagiarism feature. Easy, quick and efficient. No plagiarism found? Post away. To learn more on Plagiarism, check out this in-depth article on SEMrush.

Keep It Neat & Tidy

Stop procrastinating. You’re avoiding the proper filing of your content because you probably feel it’s a waste of time, it’s tedious, it’s frustrating, it’s never-ending, it’s unnecessary. This is procrastination. You procrastinate because you decide to avoid feeling these negative emotions. “People engage in this irrational cycle of chronic procrastination because of an inability to manage negative moods around a task.” as Dr. Fuschia Sirois mentions in a recent NY Times article on procrastination. Yet, few things feel as satisfying and positive as a tidy closet, document archive or digital filing system where anything you look for at close reach.

A well built, clean and organised content management system makes another small (or giant) victory. Victories feel good.
